What We Do

SisterWorks is a not-for-profit social enterprise based in Victoria, Australia. Our vision is an Australia in which all migrant, refugee and asylum seeker women are economically empowered. At SisterWorks, everything we do is grounded in the belief that work empowers women.

We provide education, vocational training and pre-employment programs to equip refugee and migrant women — ‘our Sisters’— with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to overcome barriers and enter employment or entrepreneurship in Australia.

SisterWorks is more than just a service provider — we’re a community. With established hubs in Richmond, Bendigo and Dandenong, a mobile hub and strong online presence.

Having helped 1,200 women from +94 different countries so far, SisterWorks is constantly growing and expanding.

SisterWorks is a safe, inclusive space where women can connect with others who have faced similar hardships.

Together, we learn by doing.
Together, we are strong.

What We Sell

We also function as a social enterprise that sells unique products which have been made by our Sisters. This not only connects many members of our community with employment but also provides those who are budding entrepreneurs with the opportunity to sell their products via an established retailer.

In our social enterprise, we are producing and selling a range of eco-friendly and sustainable products such as reusable face masks, bread bags and beeswax food wraps, as well as a gluten-free and vegan-friendly food range that includes sauces and jams from our Sister's home recipes. All products are locally and ethically produced in our hubs in Victoria.
