This month we had to decide to postpone the Ethical Enterprise Conference and Pitch competition; whilst that has taken a substantial amount of the organising committee's time, we are confident that opening up 2023 with The BIG Shift is going to be setting the scene for the year ahead.

Still, a lot is going on in the Moral Fairground world with the announcement of the Early Pitch Finalists, announcing our final judging panel for the pitch competition and personally, I'll be involved in a couple of exciting projects, including being appointed as one of the founding members of our community-led Executive and Sustainability Committee of the Neighbhouhood Circle and on taking the Executive Committee of the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand.

We are very excited to announce that we have six finalists for the 2022 Early Ethical Entrepreneur Pitch Competition, each one of them tackling very different problems with very different solutions. We would like to offer our congratulations to the finalists and cannot wait to see them pitch on the 23rd of February at the Ethical Enterprise Conference dinner.

As most of you will know, we had to postpone the Ethical Enterprise Conference to the 22nd and 23rd of February; whilst there is so much work in postponing an event, we are somehow excited as we are looking forward to starting the year with a massive event like this super charged conference. MEET THIS YEAR’S EARLY ETHICAL ENTREPRENEUR PITCH COMPETITION JUDGES

The Early Ethical Entrepreneur Pitch Competition is only possible with the judges' support, who have the complex task of deciding who will be this year's winners in February.

Some of the judges, like Cameron Neil from Red Had Impact and Tom Dawkins from StartSomeGood, have been supporting the Early Pitch since its inception and also have witnessed the success of some of the pitch winners over the years, like Fellten previously knows as Jaunt, Humanitix who have now expanded in the US and Fungi Solutions that ended also winning the Sustainability Awards.

Some of our newer judges have plenty of experience in business, mentorships, marketing and tech, so we would like also to welcome Phil Ore, Georgina Tilleyshort, Jonathan West and Liz Ellis.

CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS EXTENDED

Given we have postponed the Ethical Enterprise Conference and the Dinner, we are now extending the call out for volunteers. So if you interested in attending the conference, but might find the cost prohibitive, if you can provide a hand a as a volunteer you can attend for free.

Volunteering opportunities exist for:

Leading up to the conference and during the conference, including social media, administration, writing, photography, videography, perhaps you have a creative flair and want to help with the set up or you might have a green flair and want to help out with greening the event or you might simply want to help out at the conference. Whatever that might be get in touch and let us know.

OUT AND ABOUT - HIGHLIGHTS

Susanna Bevilacqua Founder/Director Moral Fairground and Nimmity Zappert Chair of Executive Committee Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand.

Susanna has recently been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand (FTAANZ) - a not-for-profit member-based organisation that aims to increase awareness, understanding of and support for Fair Trade and develop a solid and sustainable Fair Trade movement. Susanna has supported the Fair Trade Movement since 2009, when she launched the very first Fair Trade Event in Melbourne, the Fair@Square Festival. Susanna is very excited to join the EC and looks forward to growing the movement in Australia.

Susanna has recently been invited to come on board as the founding member of the community-led Executive and Sustainability Committee, in shaping the future of the Turning Circle Precinct. The Committee will assure governance and ongoing sustainability of the Neighbourhood Circle and work with local neighbours to help develop a plan for and articulate the future of the area, whilst reflecting the diversity of the neighbourhood it represents. Very happy to be working on this project with the Immigration Museum, Committee of Melbourne, RMIT, local businesses and residents in shaping the future of this precinct.

The RE-Generation International Youth Film Festival is going Global! The RE-Generation International Youth Film Festival is a celebration of uplifting short films to inspire and motivate a resilient and empowered young generation - the RE-Generation – to take on the New Year with a refreshed spirit and positive attitude, as we head towards the unknowns of 2023. A wonderful curation of over 60 award-winning short films has been chosen for the uplifting, though-provoking and inspiring messages that all these productions convey.
