Andrew Curtis

Andrew’s experience spans the street to the Board room with some of the most disadvantaged communities in Australia and the UK. He has worked as a Founder, CEO, Board Member, consultant and Director in charities and social enterprises including Hope Street, Oxfam GB, Caritas Westminster, Melbourne City Mission, Social Traders, WorkVentures and Baptcare. He specialises in strategy, start-up business models, scaling and business planning, and is especially keen on developing under-utilised property and resources to achieve social impact. Andrew is passionate about justice and human rights and has devoted his career to achieving equity for people at risk of social exclusion. He has a particular interest in critical theory and the analysis of systemic causes of injustice and inequality. Andrew founded a charity and social enterprise to reduce poverty in Sydney and led the organisation as CEO for 12 years. He has worked as a Trustee and Director of strategic development and innovation in large charities, specialising in the development of innovative new services models. As a consultant, he has supported both large and small charities and social enterprises to imagine and develop new opportunities to increase social impact. He is the Co-Founder and Director of The Dragonfly Collective.Andrew has a PhD from OU/Queens College Oxford University and an MBA from Swinburne University.
