Fair@Square fair-trade + ethical festival 2010
Fair@Square fair-trade+ethical festival brings critical social and environmental
issues to the fore within a dynamic, optimistic and inspiring environment.
With the premise that people are inspired to effect change when direct,
accessible routes are offered to them, Fair@Square acts not only as an
awareness raising platform but, importantly, aims to link the public with
organisations that operate with an ethical and socially responsible paradigm.
Fair@Square provides a culturally rich and diverse offering of workshops,
talks, market stalls, music, fashion and art, appealing to the young and
old. The festival inspires, entertains and educates attendees from all
cultures, demonstrating how to
become part of a sustainable future that values and respects all human
beings and the preservation of our planet.
Due to the success of the inaugural event in 2009, this year Fair@Square
will extend to 2 days of activities and programs designed to demonstrate
how dialogue, creativity, music and trade can be used as vehicles to attain
a sustainable and culturally diverse future.
Fair@Square fair-trade + ethical festival 2010 will be held in the heart of Melbourne at Federation Square on Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th of December 2010 from 11.00 am to 6.00pm.
Fair@Square is a free event, because the aim is to reach not only the converted
but also to encourage participations from people from all walks of life
to take part in this celebration and be inspired to make changes in their
lives.
We expect in excess of 50,000 visitors will participate in this
vibrant and cultural festival.
Fair@Square fair-trade + ethical festival 2010 is supported by the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand (FTAANZ).
