fair-trade+ethical festival was a FREE PUBLIC EVENT which offered something
for everyone interested
in being part of a more sustainable future. Fair@Square provided a culturally rich and diverse offering of workshops, talks, market stalls, music, fashion and art, appealed to young and old. The festival inspired, entertained and educated attendees, offered information and activities that encouraged participants to live more sustainably and effect positive change in their own lifestyles and those of fair-trade producers. Fair@Square fair-trade + ethical festival 2011 was held in the heart of Melbourne at Federation Square. The festivities kicked off on the evening of Friday, 2nd December, with a highly anticipated Ethical Fashion Show in the BMW Edge showcasing established designers and the work of RMIT students. Following the fashion show, the weekend of the 3rd to 4th of December provided a wide range of activities and programs designed to demonstrate how dialogue, creativity, music and trade can work towards a sustainable and culturally diverse future. The festival attracted over 79,000 people, visited Federation Square over the 2 days. |
