Fair Living Tent - Living ethically every day

Creator of successful Lao Fair Trade silk farm and international guest
Speaker Kommaly Chanthavong will hold silk spinning and weaving demonstrations
and a talk on fair trade silk production.
12.45pm to 1.45pm
Ethical Living Panel Discussion - Can our choices as
consumers make a difference? Chair Cameron Neil Fair Trade Australia and
New Zealand, Chlery Kernot Director of Teaching and Learning Centre for
Social Impace, University of New South Wales, Wells Transfield Director
of Jasper Coffee and Natalie DillonMarketing Director of
3Fish.

Training session – "How to be an everyday activist -
lessons and stories from everyday people". An opportunity to be part of a conversation that explores how you can be an
advocate for change when you shop. We hear the words 'ethical consumerism'
and 'fair trade'
all the time - how can they be a part of your life? Leave inspired and challenged
to be an advocate in your everyday life - with your very own action plan!
3.15pm to 4.15pm
Hand Screen-printing T-shirts: Designer looks on a budget. Demonstration of screen-printing
by Ink and Spindle a unique design by hand fairtrade t-shirts using water-based
solvent free inks.
4.30pm to 5.30pm
From the top – fair trade millinery. A millinery demonstration by award-winning
milliner, Serena Lindeman, who will
be using fairtrade silks in her creation.
5.45pm to 6.45pm
T-Time: Workshop on making fashion accessories out of old t-shirts
by Leeyong Soo of Fourth Daughter.
Fair Play Program
Fair Play Tent - Made especially for the kids
11.00am t o 12.00pm
Community members from the Jorehi Centre will
help children make simple yet beautiful origami pieces using recycled
paper.
12.15pm to 1.15pm
Check out how to use the latest innovative designs
and creative styles of reusable cloth nappies to keep your baby comfortable
and the planet safe for them to enjoy. Free reusable nappies to be
won by workshop participants.
1.30pm to 2.30pm
Learn from a qualified massage therapist how to massage
your baby for health, relaxation and bonding. Sample a range of organic
and fair trade baby products.
2.45pm to 3.45pm
A team of local artists will help your child paint
a one-off original, delicate paper umbrella sourced from fair trade
artisans in Laos.
4.15pm - 5.15pm
Kids will be mentored through the process of making
a Christmas card with fair trade mulberry paper and card using rubber
stamping and other creative techniques.
5.30pm - 6.30pm
Try out how to spin silk cocoons and weaving at the
loom.
